Creative Content Writer versus Technical Content Writer

Many of my friends keep asking me the difference between a creative content writer and a technical content writer. I would like to answer them here on my blog so that all of my visitors learn the difference between creative content writing and technical content writing.

Both creative content writer and technical content writer do the same job of writing articles and content for websites. However, there is a huge difference in their writing style, way of thinking, area of work, and, of course, revenue!

Technical content writers limit themselves to technical writing, whereas, creative content writers are do not limit themselves to specific genre or area they are versatile writers and can write on almost any topic. However, their content on technical area will be superficial. The specialty of creative content writers lies in their ability to associate different things to any specific topic and provide a new perspective to the products and services they write about.

Creative content writers are hired by companies that wish to create content and articles that could sell their products and services. Whereas, technical content writers are preferred by companies that wish to describe the technical details of their products to their customers. For example, brochures or reviews on software products or electronic products require an in-depth knowledge of the technical details in order to be well presented to their customers. Here the role of creative content writers is limited to marketing content. While the opportunities for a creative content writers are numerous, technical content writers are the well paid ones!
